Hi Rockers.
How the bands are getting so inconstants to launch their
albuns, we will bring to you some great albuns launched in
this year until now. |
Legends:
N - Nacional I - Importado |
|
The Midnight Evils -
Straight 'Til Morning (Estrus) 2003 I
When I listened some tracks from the Estrus site, I thinked
"ok, one more garage rock band" and nothing more,
but when I listened the album, what a fucking album, dude !!!
The guitar has are so simple and full of distortion and the
rock goes on in whole album, dirty and agressive, so, perfect
(for me). Produced by the noise wizard Tim Kerr (that will
come to Brazil in september to produce the new album from Thee
Butchers Orchestra) they simply destroy. Whole album is ok,
but the special eminence go to the tracks Bad Machine and
Straight 'Til Morning. (DPJ) |
Entombed - Inferno (Koch)
2003 I
The Death Metal rules and (in this case) harder than fast.
From who knows Entombed, their peculiar guitar sound is still
there, the vocal is a litle more weighty and less screamed,
but the drums continuous powerfull. The tracks are more rock,
but so heavy as always, maybe fot that the stoner rock fans
enjoy this band. Eminence for the tracks Flexing Muscles that
with Skeletons Of Society from Slayer is one of the most heavy
song that i listened, the rock That's When I Became A Satanist
and Young and Dead. (DPJ) |
|
Peter Pan Speedrock -
Lucky Bastards (Suburban) 2003 I
This band plays a rock as Motorhead in Ace Of Spades era.
Simple, dirty, faster and mainly heavy guitar riffs, and a
pointed bass. Whole album follow the same line, sometimes
faster, sometimes (just) a little more worked, but the point
here is ROCK, or do you love or do you hate, you can't stay
indifferent. The eminences go to the instrumental track
Surfwrecker that open the album and Black Beauty'69 that
invite you to the mosh. (DPJ)
|
Firebird
- III (SPV) 2003 I
Besides the production, you
could be listening one of hundred unknown 70's rock bands,
full of blues refferences, bringing a melodical vocal (as Ian
Gillan), great guitar riffs, pointed bass, drums full of
variations whitout exhibitionism, one and other keyboard and
guitar solos without smutty. This great band plays since rocks
as Cross The Line, Dream Ride and Stoned Believer (my
favorites) until bluesy balads as Long Gone and Friend.
Certainly one of the best year albuns.(DPJ)

|
Hellride - ...And Then
The Earth Moved (White Jazz) 2003 I
The basic rock n' roll played by these swedish band is
getting better with the time. The guitar riffs are with more
distortion, that in some songs sounds like The Cult in
Electric album. Ok that there is some clean rock songs as
Watch It Go and Time to Move, but nothing that compromise,
they are util to breath. Eminence for the tracks Survived
Yesterday and No One But You. (DPJ)
|
Drunk Horse - Adult
Situations (Tee Pee) 2003 I
American band that plays a heavy rock n' roll, full of
guitar riffs, guitar solos without smutty and exhbitions, with
influences of blues and in some songs sounds (a lot) like Led
Zeppelin (mainly the drums work) and some riffs as AC/DC. It
isn't original, but is well played and is better sounds like
AC/DC and Led Zeppelin as Abba. Eminence for the tracks
National Lust, Legions and Ascension Strut. (DPJ) |
