Gluecifer - Basement
Apes (SPV) I - 2002
New album from this excelent swedish rock band. They are
still doing what they know how to do, playing Rock, loud,
agressive, screaming a lot. This album was launched in Sweden
and Norway by the major Sony and in the rest of the world by
SPV from Germany. Now, we are waiting from this album in

Backyard Babies -
Making Enemies is Good (BMG) N - 2002
This album (originally lauched in 2001 in Sweden) is one
more of the Barbarian world rock invasion started by Entombed,
Nomads ( "devidamente" released here in CD-Teca).
They were so influenced by Kiss, New Yor Dolls and Motley Crue
but sometimes they play some punk songs (Misfits, Ramones,
Clash...), but hard and cool. The guitarrist Dregen played in
the first Hellacopters album. Whole album is OK. (DPJ) |

The Hives - Veni Vid
Vicious (Burning Heart) I - 2000
As a joint rocker, Coda On Line listener and CD-Teca reader,
you already had listened them or about this swedish band as
new "hype" of press specialists that follow the NME
"bible" as they say. Coming back to music (that
really cares) forget all this bullshit, because The Hives (the
band in black and white) is garage punk, "just" it,
dirty like a garage, simple and fast as punk. Some sounds
remind the classical Minor Threat. Trama will launch this disk
in Brazil in June. Wait and buy or go to the Audiogalaxy. Hate
To Say I Told You So is almost one hit and Outsmarted is a

Nebula - Let it Burn
(Rock Brigade) N - 1998
First album of these great american Stoner Rock band. After
the guitarist Eddie Glass, drummer Ruben Romano and founding
bassist Mark Abshire leave Fu Manchu, they decided to play a
sound more psychedelic than were playing in Fu Manchu and
these is a good example of pure Stoner Rock, with strong riffs
at the best Black Sabath 70's style, long guitar jams,
distortion and few vocals. Originally launched as one EP, the
last two tracks are bonus. Just one independent record label
tohave courage to launch a album as this in Brazil. Elevation
and Devil's Liquid are Stoner Rock classics. (DPJ) |

... And You Will Know
Us By The Trail Of Dead - Madonna (Trama) N - 2002
This is the second album (the first in Brazil) of these
great band that had some sounds played in Coda On Line. The
band had a tour here in Brazil last year. Many people compares
them with Sonic Youth, but I think their sound closed with
Superchunk. Guitars full of distortion, sometimes the vocal is
clean, almost as british bands, sometimes agressive as punk
bands. There are some pop songs too. Good band, good album.
The newest album of them already was launched here. Eminence
for the tracks Mistakes and Regrets and Totally Natural. (DPJ)

The Bellrays - Let It
Blast (Vital Gesture) I - 1999
This is the first album of these excelent american rock
band that follow the MC5 example launching a live album. They
play soul music as Good Behaviour and Fuzzhead and punk rock
as Killer Man (that you already listened in COL) and Get on
Thru with the same boldness, but full of distortion like
Stooges guitar. The vocal has a special role on the band, it
seems Aretha Franklin..... YEAH, ARETHA FRANKLIN and sounds
prefect. GREAT BAND. (DPJ)
