Legends: N - Nacional I - Importado

MQN - Hellburst (Monstro Discos) 2002 N

This disc marks the incoming from brazillian bands in garage rock world. Strong riffs, screamming vocals that sometimes sounds like Electric Frankenstein vocals. The sound is something between punk and hard rock, similar with European bands as Gluecifer and Backyard Babies. They played in the last brazillian tour of American garage rock masters, Watts. Eminence for the tracks Burn, Baby, Burn and Caribbean Beach. http://www.mqn.com.br.(DPJ)

Thee Butchers Orchestra - Golden Hits (Ordinary Records) 2000 N

Some people like to compare this band with John Spencer Blues Explosion. I prefer Thee Butchers Orchestra, but listen to and got your own opinion. The sound is on mix of 60's garage rock, blues, punk. Everything full of energy and swing and with no bass player. If you have the oportunity to see they playing live, go. They are so wild on stage. The tracks Trouble Maker and the Oblivians cover Nigger Rich show us their power. http://www.mp3.com/tbo.(DPJ)

Forgotten Boys - Forgotten Boys (Ataque Frontal) 2000 N

60's and 70's rock of Stooges (the band name came from Search and Destroy song), MC5, New York Dolls, mixed with Ramones and 80's hard rock. It sounds perfect ? Yeah, it is. This power trio from São Paulo show us in their songs all the influences, without copy. You Are My Habit and Southern Girl are pure Ramones songs, Heat Me is a great Hard Rock n'Roll and Can You Love Me? sounds like a New York Dolls song. http://www.forgottenboys.com.br.(DPJ)

Pin Ups - Jodie Foster (Devil Discos) 1995 N

This is the first CD (the 4th full lenght) of these historical underground brazillian guitar band. The last with Luis Gustavo in the vocals (that came back now a days). With the guitar of Zé Antonio they give us noise, distortion, punch, highly influenced by Sonic Youth but (in my oppinion) better than them, because Pin Ups is more Rock. The tracks In a hole and TV Set are perfect. http://www.pinups.cjb.net.(DPJ)

Mechanics - Psycho Love (Monstro Discos) 2000 N

They came from Pin Ups school and american indie bands as Sonic Youth and mainly Superchunk. Distorted guitars, simple songs, almost punk, few and simple solos. Now a days they are preparing a new album. Eminence for the tracks Sex Misery Machine and Monga.(DPJ)

Blind Pigs - São Paulo Chaos (Sweet Fury Records) 1997 N

Pure punk rock / hardcore ! Since the sound until the lyrics. Mix the 80's californian punk bands as 7 Seconds (of beggining) with the british bands (as old Exploited and GBH). The lyrics are full of critics against society, politicians... Punk. For punk rock fans. All tracks are good.http://www.blindpigs.com.br.(DPJ)
