Hello Rockers.
In our new CD-Teca, we will go to some basic rock n' roll
albuns. |
Legends:
N - Nacional I - Importado |
|
Hellacopters -
Supershitty To The Max (White Jazz Records) 1996 - I
Their first album still with Dregen (from Backyard Babies)
on the guitar when the raw rules. This is so strong then the
last two studio albuns. It sounds like other band. If you have
Cream Of Crap album, you can have an idea listen to 1995 track.
This album caused a furor in european critique when it was
launched because they can't define their sound. So dirty to be
hard rock, so rock to be punk, but what are labels ? It's a
fucking rock n' roll album, dude ! It sounds original without
be experimental or strange. For me it's a classical album. (DPJ) |
The Donnas - Spend The
Night (Atlantic) 2002 - I
It's a FUCKING ALBUM, dude!! If you (like me) like basic
rock as AC/DC with Bon Scott, this is THE album. The girls are
playing very well in their debut in a major label, showing to
the guys how play rock n' roll. They unjustly stayed out from
the "best of" lists of 2002, that can say nothing.
They where called to play in Lolapalooza Festival. We will
wait that this album can be launched here. (DPJ) |
|
The Mooney Suzuki -
Electric Sweat (Columbia/Sony) 2002 - I
This album, that was originally launched by an independent
label was re-launched by major label Columbia/Sony with a DVD
bonus is the second album from this New York band and show new
way from their sound mixing more blues and soul with their
garage rock in their first albun launched by Estrus Records.
The garage rock is more present in the tracks Electric Sweat
and Electrocuted Blues (my favorites). Other cool tracks are
Young Man's Mind and I Woke Up This Morning. The cover art is
so similar with the cover of Grand Funk Railroad "red
album". (DPJ)
|
Forgotten Boys - Gimme
More (Thirteen Records) 2002 - N
They definitly sholder their 70's Hard/Glam Rock vein,
making their sound to place between hard rock as in the tracks
Cumm On and Rock n' Roll Band and the punk rock of Musketeer (with
eminence from the drummer Flavio). The album has participation
of Marco Butcher (that make the cover art) making backing
vocals in some tracks. This album was launched in the end of
last year, but well worked during this year and playing live,
they got speed. Special eminence from T. Rex cover 20th
Century Boy, that got strong. (DPJ)

|
Turbonegro -
Scandinavian Leather (Burning Heart/Epitaph) 2003 - I
They are back, now with distribution in USA by Epitaph
records. The sound is the same of the last albuns, mixing punk
and hard rock, or simply rock n' roll. The vocal is still
making up as King Diamond. The best new is that this album
will be launched here. Eminence for the tracks Turbonegro Must
Be Destroyed and Locked Down. (DPJ)
|
Supersuckers -
Motherfucker be Trippin (Mid-Fi Records) 2003 - I
Listen to Supersuckers is almost like listen to AC/DC and
Ramones. If you know them, you know wath you will listen to,
and if you don't know, with one album you can have an idea.
But this album is a great surprise being one of their best
albuns, raw an strongest than the last albuns, showing how
play rock: simple, fast and funny. A pure Supersuckers albun.
Eminence for the tracks Rock n' Roll Records and Bubblegum and
Beer. (DPJ) |
